Genesis Consulting Group, in cooperation with its Albanian partner ACMS, held a first-time ever human resources conference in Albania entitled "The Human side of Management," between 28-30th October 2009.

The conference was hosted in the luxurious conference hall of the Chateau Linza Resort in the Albanian capital Tirana. Among the 120 participants present were senior managers, leading opinion makers and human resources professionals from prestigious Albanian companies and organizations. Conference proceedings were sponsored by Emporiki Bank of Greece. They generated enormous enthusiasm and considerable interest across Albania and were widely reported on local and national Albanian television and in the print media, starting with the inauguration and right through to the Conference's concluding session.

Prominent lecturers from top universities in Israel, Australia and Tirana along with other international and local professionals took part in the conference.

Participants from Israel included Professor Arie Reichel, Dean of the School of Management at Ben Gurion University of the Negev; Professor Leora Katzenstein, founder and director-general of ISEMI College, The Institute for the Study of Entrepreneurship and Management of Innovation; Dr. Rita Mano, Chair of Human Services, Faculty of Welfare and Health Sciences, Haifa University; Mr. Dov Yanai, President, Genesis Consulting Group; Dr. Orenia Yaffe-Yanai, a high-ranking psychologist and author of the best seller Career Your Passion; and Dr. Yehuda Hamovitz, Vice President, Genesis Consulting Group who also chaired the opening of the Conference.

After greetings from the Conference organizers an enthused audience was privileged to a lecture delivered by Professor Vlado Dimovski of the Economics Department at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and a former Slovenian Minister and candidate for the office of Prime Minister in his country's forthcoming elections.

Following the opening speech and addresses, Conference participants were invited to a festive reception and Ball around the hotel's swimming pool.

The second day of the Conference began with a round of interesting lectures on different aspects of human resources and concluded with an evening of outstanding cultural events, including a fare of traditional local folklore and popular local music.

The third and final day of the Conference was devoted to laying the foundations for the first pioneering association of human resources in Albania, an event that aroused considerable local excitement and pride."The conference was an enormous success and constitutes the first significant milestone in the emerging field of human resources in Albania," said Dr.Yehuda Hamovitz. "The conference greatly contributed to strengthening academic and professional collaboration between the universities and human resources experts around the world, including Israel and its Albanian counterparts."
